About Palm Home Improvement

Palm Home Improvement is an interior renovation company with an office at 37 West 37th Street in Manhattan, in the Garment District. The work is the inside of the building: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, tile, drywall and paint, demolition, full gut renovations and whole-house townhouse work.

Most New York interiors are older than the people who live in them. The Census Bureau puts the median year a home was built at 1942 in Brooklyn and 1951 in Manhattan, so a renovation here is usually a conversation with a building that has a history: plaster walls, uneven floors, old plumbing runs and a board or an owner who has to sign off. We write the scope down room by room before work starts, so the price and the finished result match what was discussed.

What we do

Each service has its own page with the steps, materials and permit points that apply in New York City. Start with the one closest to your project, or send a request and describe the work in your own words.

Where we work

Quotes cover all five boroughs. Each borough has its own page with the housing stock, the neighborhoods and the permit points that shape a project there.

Permits and licensing

Permits and inspections in New York City run through the Department of Buildings, and the city requires a Home Improvement Contractor license, issued by the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, for residential improvement work. Before any project, confirm what your address needs, and ask any contractor you hire for the license number so you can check it.
